    Basic information Introduction Thank you for buying an Argus Rackmount KVM Switch. The Rackmount KVM RJ45 series comply to RoHS III as well as to the eco directive 2009/125/EU. To enjoy this product for a long time we recommend to read this manual carefully and especially paying attention to the security advices.

    Safety Intended use 2.1.1 Environmental This product is only for indoor use and connecting of computers. Don´t use and store it inside humid rooms or near water. Don´t use it close to source of heat. The additional heat could lead to overheating and fire. 2.1.2 Disposal Don´t put this device to normal waste.

    Product information The rackmount KVM RJ45 switches are devices to control different computers over long distances. Depending the model you can control 4-16 computer directly or up to 256 computer by cascading with other switches. The devices are easy to install without using any additional software. Toggling between computers will be made by switches at the front of the KVM or by using the integrated On-Screen menue.

    1. Connect the computers like written before. 2. Connect Monitor, keyboard and mouse with your console. 3. Connect another KVM from Argus series, using the console port 5 (look at pos. 3.4). 4. Connect further computers with the additional KVM.

    5.3 Operating 1. Hot-Swap You can connect or disconnect computers without restart the KVM. 2. Turn off and Restart Normally the rackmount KVM won´t be turned off. In case it´s necessary to turn it off, please follow these instructions: 1. Disconnet the KVM from power. 2.

    Handling You can control the KVM by using the switches at the front or by using Hotkeys. Toggle by switches Below is shown the KS-3108. The use of the other KVM is accordingly. Please look also at chapter 3.3. The switches at the front of the device are control buttons as well as LED indicators. You can switch between the computers by pushing the buttons.

    6.2 Toggle by On-Screen menue To start the On-Screen menue press „Ctrl“ or „Scroll“ twice. Available ports. The port, marked by arrow is actually selected. Quick view. Port in Quick view list are marked with the triangle. Displays online computers Name Name of port if spezified.
  • Page 13 POWERED ON Shows only turned on computers. POWERED ON+ Shows turned on computers from Quick View list. QVIEW+NAME Shows named ports from Quick View list. NAME Shows only named ports. Choose option with arrow keys and press Enter. F4 QV Selects a port for Quick View.

    SET SUPER PASSWORD Change administrator password CLEAR THE NAME LIST Delete name list. Password necessary. RESTORE DEFAULT VALUE Password is necessary. After restore password is deleted. LOCK CONSOLE Locks/ Unlocks the control of ports by switches and OSD. Password necessary. Maintenance This device needs no maintenance which requires opening of the housing or working inside the device.
