4. Operation

The voltage tester is used to identify voltage - carrying wires and
equipment. With its clear indication of the flashing red LED and the
vibration motor, it is easy to find AC voltage - carrying leads.
4.1 Switching the device on / off
To switch on the device, solely the on / off button is pressed. At the
moment of switch-on a beep sounds, the vibration motor is vibrating
once and the green LED in the probe starts to light up.
To switch off the voltage tester, press the on / off button again. A
beep sounds again, this time twice. At the same time, the green
LED turns off to signal that the voltage tester is switched off.
Note:
If there is no indication, there may still be voltage present. Operation may be affected by
differences in connector design, thickness and type of insulation. The device can detect no
voltage in armored cables, pipe cables, behind panels or metallic covers.
4.2 Measurements
Before each measurement, check the voltage tester for functionality
by taking a measurement on a known voltage source.
In order to detect an alternating voltage, the tip of the voltage tester
is placed in the vicinity of a voltage-carrying object. When an AC
voltage is detected, the red LED starts pulsing, the beep starts to
beep, and the vibration motor begins to vibrate.
It is possible to change the measuring range by pressing the "12V"
button during operation, this must be kept pressed during the
measurement. With this switch, the sensitivity of the voltage tester
