4. Operation

The Voltage Detector is useful for the identifying active and neutral conductors,
finding a break in a wire, and detecting the presence of AC voltage at:
* Outlets
* Switches
* Circuit breakers
* Fuses
* Wires and cables
Turn unit on:
* Press the power button.
* A single-beep sound with red LED flash for 0.5 s and then a steady green
LED to illuminate in the tip of the tester.
* The tester is now activated and is operational.
* Test on known live circuit to verify tester functionality.
* If you press the power button for 1 second to power on the device, the
audible alarm is deactivated.
Note:
If there is no indication, voltage could still be present. Operation may be
affected by differences in socket design and insulation thickness and type. The
device cannot detect voltage inside armoured cable or cable in conduit, behind
panels or in metallic enclosures.
Turn unit off:
* Press the power button and listen for a long beep sound and watch the
"power on" green/red LEDs turn off.
* The tester is now deactivated and is not operational.
