Certification: This softener is tested and certified by WQA against NSF/ANSI Standard 44 for the effective reduction of hardness (calcium and magnesium) as verified and substantiated by test data. “This softener is not intended to be used for treating water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system.”... -

Sanitization Procedures At the start up or after a period of one week the following procedure is reccommended to remove the possibility of bacterial growth or contamination within the Hankscraft SS9-48 softener system. This procedure relates only to the original description of equipment and options described for the Hankscraft SS9-48. - Page 8 Before Plugging in the Unit 1. Set the H2O Selector Knob to the “In Service” position, and bring water into the resin tank by rotating the H2O Selector Knob clockwise until the desired position appears. 2. To set the water usage and to calculate the proper setting, you must know the following. a.
