BFP-ICARUS QUICK START GUIDE – FILAMENT INNOVATIONS
The following guide allows you to check and monitor the progress of setting up your
ICARUS unit. It is recommended to check each step off here to ensure everything is
done in order and correctly.
1. Remove the "L" brackets from the bottom of the printer that attach it to the crate,
and adjust the casters so the wheels are on the pallet.
2. Remove the machine from the pallet by gently rolling it off and move the
machine to the general area where it will be used.
3. Remove the shrink wrap from the machine. Inside the printer, you will find a box
with the included tool kit and accessories.
4. Level the machine using the included bubble level.
5. Remove the zipties around the hotend securing the paperwork and those
securing the X carriage to the Y carriage, on the left.
6. Plug the 110 VAC cord into the wall and the machine on top of the control case,
twist the red emergency stop clockwise to disengage it, and flip the red toggle
switch. The unit should now be powered on.
7. From the touch screen, select "Move", on the Z axis line, press "-5mm" twice. BE
SURE YOU PRESS THE NEGATIVE BUTTON!
8. Remove the green painters tape securing the glass print bed to the blue bearing
plate – this is under the removable Gecko Plate. You can lift the Z plate higher in
the air by repeating Step 7 if needed.
9. From the touch screen, Home All axes and then perform tilt bed compensation via
the Macro button:
Macro > "Bed Leveling" > "Tilt Compensation"
10. Attach the spool holder to the right side of the machine using the included Allen
Keys.
11. Connect to a Wifi Network. Check that you can connect to the Duet Web Control
interface afterward (detailed in this manual). Install the webcam, if desired,
following the instructions from the Wyze Cam app on your phone or tablet.
Install the slicer profiles included on the MicroSD card which is located in the
included toolbox – HAPPY PRINTING
