UXCT System Connections

10. UXCT System Connections
The rear panel of the UXCT uses standard connectors to allow for easy connection of ground, power,
temperature network communication, ambient temperature, alarms, communications, string selector,
RS-485 and float charging current. The following sections illustrate where the connections are located
and what they are used for.

10.1 Power Connection

There are five model dependent power options for the UXCT:
UXBM-50 Series (1012-2OB) – powered from the BDS or BDSU controller using the supplied 16
GA zip cord and supplied Molex plug.
UXIM Series (1012-3OB) – powered from the battery string using the supplied 1112-300-XX
power harness. The fuses are installed at the time of system startup.
UPS Standalone (1012-4OB) – powered from a wall outlet using a supplied detachable power
cord
Telecom Standalone (1012-5OB) – powered from the battery string using the supplied 1112-301-
XX power harness. The fuses are installed at the time of system startup.
Industrial Standalone (1012-6OB) – powered from the battery string using the supplied 1112-
300-XX power harness. The fuses are installed at the time of system startup.

10.2 Temperature Sensors

Temperature Sensors will be applied to each battery jar being monitored. In addition, up to four sensors
for ambient temperature readings will be provided with each unit. The system provides prefabricated
harnesses with a one wire connection for each sensor.
Note: Each sensor has an individualized serial number for auto-detection. The serial number of the
sensor is located on the label. The number is visible for verification purposes.
