Service tools
The following table lists tools for servicing Lenovo computers. Tools with a cross mark are needed for
servicing the product models as described by this publication. Prepare them before you service the product.

Notes:
• T30 screwdrivers are used to service the new Intel Xeon CPUs.
• Hexagonal sockets are used to remove antenna connectors.
• Silicone grease is applied to the CPU and heat sink surfaces to eliminate air gaps.
General guidelines
When removing or replacing a FRU, ensure that you observe the following general guidelines:
1. Do not try to service any computer unless you have been trained and certified. An untrained person runs
the risk of damaging parts.
2. Begin by removing any FRU that have to be removed before replacing the failing FRU. Any such FRU are
listed at the beginning of each FRU replacement procedure. Remove them in the order in which they are
listed.
