These instructions explain how to install a QFA1000
or QFA1001 Room Hygrostat.

Two 6 × 32 screws

10 minutes
Prerequisites
The base has cable entries at the rear for mounting
the room hygrostat on recessed conduit boxes. For
wall mounting, appropriate holes at the top or bottom
can be knocked out.
Mounting Location
The hygrostat should be mounted:
•
on an inner wall approximately 4.9 feet
(1.5 m) above the floor, and at least 1.6 feet
(0.5 m) from the closest adjoining wall.
•
where there is a natural circulation of room
air (do not mount near drafts, in corners,
behind curtains, too close to doors and
windows, or on an outer wall).
•
away from sources of heat and refrigeration
(radiators, computers, televisions, concealed
heating pipes, hot or cold water pipes).
•
where it is not exposed to direct sunlight.

Installation
1.
Using a 7 mm flat-blade screwdriver, insert the
blade into one of the slots on the side of the
housing base. Pry the base away from the
housing cover.
2.
Do the same for the second slot, so that the
cover loosens from the housing base.
3.
Flip open the hygrostat cover.

4. Before mounting the hygrostat, run the cable
through the back of the housing, and terminate
the lead wires appropriately, based on how the
unit is intended to operate (either switching on
humidification or on de-humidification). See
Figures 4 and 5.
