    HAMEG instruments fulfill the regulations of the EMC directive. The conformity test made by HAMEG is based on the actual generic- and product standards. In cases where different limit values are applicable, HAMEG applies the severer standard. For emission the limits for residential, commercial and light industry are applied.

    Safety Class 1 regulations. To put the HM6050-2 to operation it has to be connected to an AC power outlet (with protective ground) according to VDE-0100. Due to the relative high leakage current (ca. 800 mA) the equip- ment cannot be operated in combination with a leakage current circuit breaker.

    Replacement of fuses The internal power supply unit of the HM6050-2 contains a fuse. Ex factory the HM6050-2 is set to 230V ±10% (50-60Hz). If the instrument shall operate at a mains voltage of 115 V ±10%, the wire bridges have to be changed by soldering.

    AC power cable. (3) Mains power outlet for the DUT The DUT will be connected to the HM6050-2’s Mains power outlet with its AC power cable. The maximum supply current of the DUT must not exceed a continuous current of 16 A at an ambient temperature of 23 °C.
  • Page 11 (11) Test Receiver (test signal output) The output impedance Z of the HM6050-2’s test signal output is 50 . The shielding connection of the BNC jack is connected to the housing and thus to ground. A two plug broadband BNC cable is used to attach the HM6050-2 to a Test Receiver or Spectrum Analyzer.

    Rear panel (14) AC power cable The power cable is used to attach the HM6050-2 to the mains outlet. ( See: “Setting into operation” ). (15) Ground block The ground block is made of aluminum and fastened to the backside of the housing by two screws (below the mains cable outlet).
