Configure as a wireless access point

The following guide shows how to configure the Thomson TG582n router as an access point on an
existing network.

With DHCP enabled on the network

In order for this to work you must not be connected to the router at the time. Unplug your
computer and restart the router to make sure.
1) Plug the router into the network via port #4 (marked red)
2) Wait until the router appears to have an IP address
3) Connect your computer to the router wired or wirelessly.

With DHCP disabled on the network.

It's best to factory reset the router before doing this.
1) Power on the router and wait a few minutes.
2) Plug your computer into the router via ports 1, 2, or 3
3) Using Internet Explorer browse to 192.168.1.254. By default the router does not have a
password so you should be able to log straight in.
4) Go to Home Network, Interfaces, Click on 'LocalNetwork', and then Configure (top right)

This will disconnect you. 10) Restart the router or unplug your Ethernet cable for 10 seconds then plug it back in.
