    1.1. ABOUT NMEA0183 TO ETHERNET CONVERTER NMEA0183 to Ethernet converter (Converter in further text) is Add-on module compatible with every Yacht Router models. It will give you ability to connect any NMEA0183 source (e.g. GPS, plotter, sounder, etc) to Yacht Router for purpose of getting NMEA0183 data in TCP format available on your Vessel Network both over WIFI or Ethernet. In addition to NMEA0183, device will also work with RS232 protocol over dedicated connector.

    CHAPTER 2 - INSTALLATION 2.1. CONNECTING POWER SUPPLY To power Converter connect it to DC power source using supplied DC power cable. Power cable consist of RED and BLACK wire. Connect RED wire to positive (+) and BLACK wire to negative (ground -) power source as indicated on a following photo.

    CHAPTER 2 - INSTALLATION 2.2. CONNECTING NMEA0183 DEVICE To connect NMEA0183 device to Converter use NMEA0183 port as specified bellow. DEVICE CONVERTER (NMEA possible labelling) TX A / Out A / + / Data TX B / Out B / - / Gnd 2.3.

    CHAPTER 3 - INITIAL SETUP 3.1. LOCKING CONVERTER IP ADDRESS As Converter is add-on module to the Yacht Router it is controlled by same software you use for your Yacht Router. If you did not already installed Yacht Router Control software you can download it here: Once you install the software refer to USER MANUAL how to use it.
  • Page 12 CHAPTER 3 - INITIAL SETUP Following step is to lock Converter IP address so it will keep same IP address in the future. To do that click on Converter name or IP address to open additional menu. Click on Lock IP button to lock Converter IP for future use.

    CHAPTER 4 - CONVERTER SETUP 4.1. STATUS PAGE Status page is initial page of Converter web setup where you can read current device status.

    CHAPTER 4 - CONVERTER SETUP 4.2. LOCAL IP CONFIG On this page you can set Converter to work with DHCP or set Static IP address. If you plan to use Converter with Yacht Router we strongly advice to use DHCP/AutoIP. There is no need to set static IP address as you already Lock Yacht Router to provide IMPORTANT same IP each time Converter is present on a network.

    CHAPTER 4 - CONVERTER SETUP 4.3. RS232 SETUP On this page you can set parameters for RS232 port. Baud Rate Port communication speed. Default parameter for most NMEA0183 based device is 4800. Heading sensors, AIS and few other usually use 38400. Data Speed NMEA data speed conversion, set 50 as most common version or change if you need different performance.
