    24 P ORTICO VERVIEW NSTALLATION AND ONFIGURATION UIDE VERVIEW What is Portico TVA? Portico Telephone VoIP Adapter (TVA) is a highly-configurable piece of equipment that connects your existing PBX or CENTREX telephones to a local or Service Provider’s SIP Softswitch or IP-PBX. Different models of Portico TVA are available for the US and UK/EU markets.

    Portico TVA converts the legacy signaling protocol used by the handset into SIP, and vice-versa. Before turning power off, check the Maintenance section of the web interface and make sure it is safe to shut down. Optimization should be performed before upgrading software -- it decreases the upgrade time and improves performance of the software.
