DAS-8006 CHARGING
Power for the unit is provided by two rechargeable lithium-ion 3.7v 3000 mAh user replaceable batteries.
Charging of the reader is either done by a contact charging base stand or a direct DC plug depending on
the reader model ordered. The supplied batteries have a lifespan of approximately 1200 full or partially
drained charging cycles. Although there are no memory effects to frequent charging, to maximize battery
life, it is best to charge only when the battery is low. The battery provided allows for hundreds of reads
between charging cycle and therefore should not be a concern.
To charge the DAS-8006-C using the charging base, plug the 12-volt power supply provided to the back
of the base. To recharge the reader supplied with the charging base, simply place the reader back in the
base. The unit will automatically start charging, and the internal microprocessor in the reader will end
charging cycle when completed. The charging base should be located in a dry area and located away
from animal dander and debris. To maximize the life of base contacts, care should also be taken to avoid
any solvents caustic to metal.
To charge the DAS-8006-P and DAS-8006-IUS using the 12-volt power supply provided, simply plug the
reader to the power supply using the plug at the bottom of the reader. The unit will automatically start
charging, and the internal microprocessor in the reader will end charging cycle when completed. Avoid
getting the plug outlet wet to prevent short and/or electrical shock.
