RECORD DELIMITER
Default setting is CRLF. Select a different delimiter setting using the arrow keys to select
a desired delimiter to separate the end of each record. For example, if you have the time
stamp on, this is the delimiter sent after both the data/time and the ID have been sent to
the active open software connected to the reader indicating a complete record for each
scan.
The available delimiters are:
•
CRLF – This will transmit two characters for the delimiter: a Carriage Return
character (ASCII 13) and a Line Feed character (ASCII 10).
•
TAB – This will transmit a Tab character (ASCII 9).
•
COMMA – This will transmit a comma character (ASCII 44).
•
CR – This will transmit a Carriage Return character (ASCII 13).
•
NONE – No delimiter transmitted with sent data.

LOAD EXC FIRMWARE
Load EXC Firmware allows for future updates of the reader firmware and should not be accessed
unless instructed. If YES is selected, update can be canceled by using the Back keypad. The unit
will power down after canceling of firmware update. Improper access to this menu could possibly
lock reader requiring service support from BMDS. Exit to main screen by holding back button.

NOTE: SERIAL PARAMETERS ARE AUTOMATIC
There are currently no settings for serial parameters when the
USB Serial port is connected that can be changed directly from
the reader. Currently if a RS-232 type connection is used, the
unit defaults to a baud rate of 9600 and a data frame of 8, 1,
