2. Overview

2.1 Introduction

The Basic Single Mode Light Source and the Basic Multimode Light Source are
miniature dual-wavelength laser sources. Use a light source to test segments of
single-mode or multimode optical fiber. The light sources also work with our
Optical Power Meter (FOPM-100) to measure optical fiber loss. A single output
connector provides stable power at dual wavelengths. The compact unit operates
in either continuous wave (CW) mode or modulated mode. A low-battery indica-
tor reminds you to recharge the battery when needed.

2.2 What's Included
