SL4001 Decibel HD 5 ft Cable Lock
with Alarm
The SL4001 Decibel HD 5 ft provides the ultimate theft deterrent by integrating
a 110 decibel siren with a robust 5 ft cable enclosed in a protective plastic
sleeve.

Installing the Batteries
Note: The external battery cover can only be removed when
unlocked to prevent tampering.
1. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the two screws on the external
battery cover. Remove the external battery cover (Fig. 2).
2. Remove the screw on the
internal battery cover (Fig. 3).
3. Insert 2 AAA alkaline batteries
(not included) (Fig. 4). Ensure
the polarity is correct.
4. Replace the internal battery
cover by tightening the single
screw.
5. Replace the external battery
cover by tightening the
remaining two screws.
6. Test the alarm. Lock the cable in
the cable lock hole. Using a pen,
to order
press and hold the recessed test
button (Fig. 1) under the label
until the alarm sounds. Use the
keys to unlock the lock to disable the alarm.
Note: Batteries will last 6-12 months on average.
Using the Alarm Cable Lock
1. Wrap the cable around or through
the items you wish to secure, and
through a fixed object such as a
post or railing for maximum
security (Fig. 5).
2. Insert the steel end of the cable
into the cable lock hole until you
hear a beep. It will lock automatically as you do this, so ensure you have
Fig. 1 the key on-hand. The LED light will flash a few times to indicate that it is
now locked and armed. It will then flash every 7-8 seconds.
3. To unlock it, insert the key and turn it a
¼ turn to the right. Remove the cable
from the cable lock hole (Fig. 6).
W arning: All Decibel products contain a very loud siren as a theft
deterrent. If used at close range for prolonged periods of time, this
may cause ear damage or hearing loss. Do not hold close to ears,
and keep a way from small children.

Replacement keys can be ordered via our website, www.decibellocks.com.
To order replacements, register the serial number of the keys (not the lock)
online. If you lose your keys and don't know the serial number, we cannot
send replacements! We strongly recommend that you note the serial number

attached to your keys and register it on our website. This way, if you lose
your keys or forget your serial number, we can find it for you.
We also recommend separating the keys immediately and storing one in a
secure location.
