Outside Temperature Indicator

The temperature sensor is arranged in
the area of the front bumper. Due to its
location, the sensor can be affected by
road or engine heat during idling or
slow driving. This means that the accu
racy of the displayed temperature can
only be verified by comparison to a
thermometer located next to the sen
sor, not by comparison to external dis
plays (i.e., bank signs, etc.).
Adaptation to ambient temperature
takes place in steps and depends on
the prevailing driving conditions (stop
and go - or moderate, constant driving)
and difference in temperature to be
compensated.
Warning!
Ttie outside temperature indicator is
not designed to serve as an Ice-
Warning-Device and is therefore
unsuitable for that purpose. Indi
cated temperatures just above
freezing point are by no means a
warrant that the road surface is free
from any icing.

Brake Pad Wear Indicator Lamp

The brake pad wear indicator lamp in
the instrument cluster comes on when
the key is turned to steering lock posi
tion 2 and it should go out when the
engine is running. If the indicator lamp
lights up during braking, this shows
that the front wheel brake pads are
worn.
Have the brake system checked at an
authorized MERCEDES-BENZ dealer
as soon as possible.

Brake Warning Lamp

The brake warning lamp will come on if
insufficient brake fluid is in the reser
voir (key in steering lock position 2 and
parking brake released).
When the minimum mark on the reser
voir is reached, have the brake system
checked (brake lining thickness,
leaks).
To test the brake warning lamp, pull up
parking brake lever. Turn key in steer
ing lock to position 2 and the brake
warning lamp should come on; release
parking brake and the lamp should go
out.
