ARMING THE SECURITY SYSTEM
Manual Arming with the Remote Control Transmitter
To ann the security system press the "ARM"
hutton on the remote control transmitter. When the
transmitted signal i.. received the siren will chirp
and the parking lights will flash one time,
indicating the system is in pre-ann. In pre-arm the
system locks the doors·, performs a self diagnostic
tcst and checks all protected openings. If all
protected entry points are closed the siren will chirp and the parking
lights will flash a second time, cooJinning the system is now fully
armed and your vehicle is protected.
*Yehicle must be equipped wilh power door locks.
Automatic Starter Lockout
One minute after the ignition key is tllrned off the system will
electronically disable the starter motor to provide a measure of
security even if you do not arm the system. Pressing the "DISARM"
button on the remote control transmitter after the ignition key has
been tllrned off will disable the automatic ,tarter ]0ckoUl for that 0ne
instance. When the ignition key is turned on again the automatic
starter lockout feature wilt be reset.

Arming when a protected entry point is open
When there is a door, or other protected entry point. open when tile
~ystem
enters pre-arm the system will wait until that door is closed
before sounding the second arm chirp (and fully arming).
HOW THE SECURITY SYSTEM PROTECTS YOUR
VEHICLE

The visual status indicator tlashes once per second creating a
powerful, visual theft
deterrent.

The engine will not start. The security system's "starter
interrupt" electronically disables the starter moLOr.
3.
All p1"(1tected zones are continually monitored. Disturbance to
any protected zone '....ill trigger an alarm cycle,

The shock sensor monitors for impact to the body of tllc car.
A light impact will cause the sircnto sound a shon
lite-touch chirp to warn away a potential intruder.
Heavier impact will t.rigger an alarm cycle.
WHEN AN ALARM CYCLE IS TRIGGERED
When a protected zone is violated. the following events occur:
• The status indicator flashes rapidly.
• The siren sounds continously,
• The vehicle's pcu'king lights flash once per second.
This series of events is called an alarm cycle. The alarm cycle lasts
for one minute and then shuis down returning the security system to a
fully armed state, except when:
The violated entry point is left open. the alarm cycle shuts down
for 10 seconds tben resumes to aUraCl more attention
to
the
vehicle. This cycle repealS unlil the violated entry point is
closed,
If
tht:. shock sensor is triggered five times, the sensor will be
bypassed untillhe system is disarmed and then re-armed. All
other protected eMl'y points m'e still armed and alert.
DISARMING THE SECURITY SYSTEM
When returning to your vehicle. press the
"DISARM" button on the remote control
transmitter. As soon as the system receives the
transmitted signal the siren wi Il emit one long
chirp (about twice as long as an arm chirp), the
doors unlock· and [he interior dome light turns
on. The interior dome light. will stay on for one
minute or until the vellicle is started or the system
is re-armed.

Disarmiug Security System After An Alarm Cycle
In the event that an alarm cycle was triggered whil you were away,
the system will alert you that an attempted theft may have occurred.
When you return to your vehicle the visual alarm status indicator will
be flashing rapidly.
In
addition when you disarm the system it will
respond with four short chirps il1stcad of the one normal disarm chirp.
The visual status indicator will continue to nash rapidly until the
ignition key is ltLlTlcd on. t.he emergency override button is press dol'
the system is re-armed.
