    In this operation mode, EGW1-IA3-MB behaves like a serial server in TCP Server Mode. In this mode the EGW1-IA3-MB will be listening and waiting for a client to establish a TCP connection. Once this connection is established, all data received on the Ethernet interface will be transmitted to the serial port and vice versa transparently, functioning as a TCP to RS-232 / RS-485 / RS-422 converter and vice versa.

    Connection with Serial Port Redirector When using the EGW1-IA3-MB to replace a RS-232 connection between a PC and a device, you may need to install a Serial Port Redirector on your computer. This software will create a virtual COM port on your computer to use an existing software as if you were connected to the device using a physical COM port.
