Inserting and Removing Modules

Caution
To prevent ESD damage to electronic components, always use an ESD wrist
strap when handling modules or coming into contact with internal components.
Inserting a module into the chassis

Align the edges of the module with the card guides on each side of the slot (see figure).

Ensure that the ejector levers are in the out position. Keeping the module horizontal, slide
the module into the slot until the ejector levers contact the chassis.
3
Push both ejector levers in simultaneously to seat the module in the backplane connector.
4
Tighten the captive screws with a flat-blade screwdriver.

Removing a module from the chassis

Loosen the captive screws on the module using a flat-blade screwdriver.

Pull the ejector levers outward simultaneously to release the module from the backplane
connector.
3
Pull the module straight out of the slot and place it on an antistatic mat or in an antistatic
bag.
CAUTION:
This unit
has more
than one
power-
supply
cord.
To reduce
the risk
of electric
shock,
disconnect
both
power-
supply
cords
before
servicing.
