3.3 Connection of EMC filter
Step Action
1.
Remove the filter cover.
Connect the PE conductor
to the earth terminal.
Connect the mains cable to
terminals L1, L2 and L3 on
the mains side of the filter.
Details about mains
connection are shown on
the filter. See illustration.
The mains side has no EMC
cable gland.

Strip about 60 mm of the
outer sheath of the
screened cable.
Pull back the screen
10-15 mm over the outer
sheath.
Strip about 50 mm of the
inner sheath.
3.
Insert the screened cable
through the EMC cable
gland fitted on the side of
the filter facing the motor
(the "motor side" of the
filter).
Check that the screen
makes good contact with
the gland. The screen must
be visible inside the gland.
4.
Connect the PE conductor
(pos. 1) to the earth
terminal.
Connect the conductors to
terminals L1', L2' and L3'
(pos. 2) in the motor side of
the filter.
Check that the PE
conductor between the
cabinet cover and bottom
(pos. 3) is fixed in position.
5.
Tighten the cable gland nut
to secure the screened
cable in position. This
ensures good contact
between screen and cabinet
and provides strain-relief for
the cable.
Fit the cover.
3.4 Connection of EMC filter to motor terminal box

4. Disposal
This product or parts of it must be disposed of in an
environmentally sound way:
1. Use the public or private waste collection service.
2. If this is not possible, contact the nearest Grundfos company
or service workshop.
Remove the terminal box
cover.
Remove the existing cable
gland from the side of the
terminal box.
Screw the reducer with bush
(pos. 1) on the outside of
the terminal box.
Screw the EMC nut (pos. 2)
on the inside of the terminal
box. Make sure that the
rough edges of the nut face
the side of the terminal box
to ensure good contact.
Screw the EMC cable gland
(pos. 3) on the terminal box.
Strip about 120 mm of the
outer sheath of the
screened cable.
Pull back the screen
10-15 mm over the outer
sheath.
Strip about 110 mm of the
inner sheath.
Insert the screened cable
through the EMC cable
gland on the terminal box.
Check that the screen
makes good contact with
the gland. The screen must
be visible inside the gland.
Connect the PE conductor
to the earth terminal
(pos. 1).
Connect the conductors to
terminals L1, L2 and L3
(pos. 2).
Tighten the cable gland nut
to secure the screened
cable in position.
This ensures good contact
between screen and
terminal box and provides
strain-relief for the cable.
Fit the cover.
