20 Troubleshooting

The following table describes some common problems you can encounter when using your TV.
Consider the proposed solutions before you call for service.
Symptom
No display on
screen
Poor reception
(snow)
No picture
No sound on
certain channels
No sound
Foreign language
in the TV menus
Possible solutions
Verify that the power cord is properly connected into the mains
socket and into the TV.
If the power cord is correctly inserted but there is no power, per-
form the following steps:
Disconnect power cord or wall plug
Wait for 60 seconds and then re-insert plug
Switch on the TV
Press the
key on the remote control
Verify that the aerial is connected to the TV and to the wall aerial
socket.
Manually tune your picture as described in Manual Store on page 10.
Verify that you have chosen the right TV system. For information
about TV systems, see Manual Store on page 10.
Check the signal strength by pressing the
