    Chapter 1 Product Overview Overview IP-COM SE3100 is a Gigabit business-class router that has integrated multi-WAN capability, load balancing, flow control, access filter, and QoS. It also functions as a wireless controller to connected access points for monitoring, management, and configuration of your wireless LAN.

    Appearance Front Panel  LED Color Status Description Solid The device is receiving electrical power. POWER Green The device is malfunctioning or not connected to the power supply. Slow flashing: Device system is working properly. Flashing Fast flashing: The system is starting up or erased internal storage (NAND-flash).

    When the device stays on standby:  Press this button for five~fifteen seconds and release it; in approximately one minute, the device will reboot and restore to its factory defaults.  Press this button for at least sixteen seconds and release it; in approximately one minute, the device will reboot and clear its internal storage.

    Installation The device can be installed either in a rack or a flat surface (desktop/workbench). A. Rack-mounting You can install the device in a standard 19-inch rack with the accessories (L-shaped brackets and screws) that come in the box. ❶ Install the rack, in a location ensuring it is both stable and level.

    Chapter 4 Advanced Setup Networks This section instructs you on setting up your device to the Internet. Network Config Config Wizard Click Networks > Config Wizard entering the configuration page. How to Configure Your Network? ❶ Click Config Wizard to enter the customized interface area. Define LAN and WAN ports according to your actual needs.
  • Page 22 ❷ Configure the LAN details on the screen below. Click Next to proceed forward. The following descriptions will assist in configuring the LAN port. Item Description LANx Click LANx to view or configure the LANx network parameters (IP address, DHCP server, etc). (x can be 0, 1, 2 or 3) You can set IP address and subnet mask of the LAN port as you need.
  • Page 23 Lease Time The lease time of the client's IP address assigned by the DHCP server. Range An IP address range assigned by the DHCP server. ❸ Here you can configure WAN parameters according to the way you access the Internet. Click Next to proceed forward.
  • Page 24 Click Next to enter the Proxy Service page, and to configure proxy parameters. The following descriptions will assist in configuring the proxy parameter. Item Description For user to get an IP from the WAN side to get to the Internet. (By Auto Proxy setting SNAT rules).
  • Page 25 ❺ Check your configurations again and click Save. NOTE  During the configuration, if you want to quit your settings, click Cancel on the top of the page. The Home page will then be displayed.  After the configuration, you need to click Restart Network to bring all your configurations into effect.

Interface WAN service port Proxy Network The intranet IP range that needs to get Internet service from WAN port The source port of data packets. Now, you want to add one network segment 192.168.1.0/24 and hosts within this segment will be allowed to share WAN0 service to get connected to the Internet.
  • Page 28 ❸ Configure PC IP address, which is within the intranet 192.168.1.0/24 as illustrated below. 2.2 Port Mapping Rule Port Mapping Rule helps to create the mapping between the WAN service port and LAN server. All the access to the WAN service port will be redirected to the LAN server designated through IP address, to allow Internet users access to the intranet server.
  • Page 29 Click Add a mapping to enter the port mapping rule configuration. The following descriptions will assist in configuring a mapping rule. Parameters Description Check/uncheck the box to enable/disable the current port mapping Enable Rule rule. Description The description of the port mapping rule, DNAT by default. Ingress Port The WAN port used by the Internet users to access the LAN server.
  • Page 30 TCP/UDP protocol used by the LAN server. If you're not clear about Protocol (number) the protocol, it is recommended to select all protocols (including TCP and UDP). Destination address The WAN IP via which the Internet users access the LAN server. The TCP or UDP port number by which the Internet users access the Destination Port LAN server.
  • Page 31 Test & Result: Internet users can visit the LAN web server via http://1.2.3.4:8800. 2.3 Static Routing Rule Static routing can help build the communication between the device and hosts in different network segments. Click Networks > Advanced > Static routing rule to enter the configuration page. NOTE When static routing is used in a huge and complicated network, malfunctions or topology changes occur, some routes may be interrupted and will not be reached.
  • Page 32 The following descriptions will assist in configuring static routing. Parameters Description Enable Rule Check/uncheck the box to enable/disable the static routing rule. Network The network segment that needs to be connected to the device. Gateway The ingress IP address of the next hop routing. Interface The ingress port of the next hop routing.

    System This chapter helps you manage the device efficiently, including backup, reset, reboot, upgrade, etc. System Management Backup/Restore Click System > System Management to enter the screen below.  Restore Factory Default If the network works wrong or you forget the login username, password or the device login IP address, you can reset the device to factory defaults and reconfigure it.
