  • Page 8: Introduction

    1. INTRODUCTION The ZT 6631 is a Super VGA PCI interface for the ZT 6500 Single Board Computer with ® Pentium processor. The ZT 6631 utilizes the Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) bus to give exceptional video performance. The PCI bus supports 32 bits of data and runs at speeds up to 33 MHz giving it a theoretical bandwidth of 132 Mbytes/s.

Functional Block Diagram CPU INTERFACE The ZT 6631 connects to the host CPU through a CompactPCI card cage. The interface consists of a 32-bit data/address bus and various control signals for PCI transfers. The ZT 6631 supports bus speeds up to 33 MHz, giving a theoretical bandwidth of 132 Mbytes per second.

The 5434 supports the use of an on-board EEPROM to save monitor setting. This allows the user to set up the ZT 6631 for the best refresh rates and video modes for a particular monitor. The utility CLMODE.EXE supplied on the DOS drivers and utilities disk can be used to save these settings to EEPROM.
