Maintenance and service

Any maintenance or repair work
that requires opening of the motor or gear hous-
ing should only be carried out by an authorised
Customer Service Centre (name supplied by your
dealer)! Maintenance or repair work carried out
by an unauthorised person can lead to the wrong
connection of the power cord or other components,
which in turn can lead to accidents with serious
consequences.
To prevent accidents, always re-
move the plug from the power supply socket before
carrying out any changes or maintenance work on
the tool! Do not use compressed air to clean the
electrical tool! Do not try to clean parts inside the
tool in this way, as you could let foreign objects in
through the openings of the tool housing.
Certain cleaning agents and sol-
vents are harmful to plastic parts. Some of these
include, but are not limited to: Gasoline, Acetone,
Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK), Carbonyl Chloride,
cleaning solutions containing Chlorine, Ammonia,
and household cleaners containing Ammonia.
If the power cord is damaged, the cord must be re-
placed at manufacturer or service workshops.
The planer plate is made of a high-quality mag-
nesium alu minium alloy. Any corrosion which may
occur can be removed by buffing using a fine elastic
fibre mat „V lies quality" (grit S800). To prevent cor-
rosion of the chromated planer head any cleansant
used must have a pH value of between 4.5 and 8.
Keep the ventilation slots in the motor housing clean
and free of obstructions at all times to ensure an
adequate circulation of air.
The planer is fitted with special motor brushes with
an automatic cut-out. When the brushes become
worn the power supply is shut off automatically and
the planer comes to a standstill.
To clean the chip collection opening:
– Remove the adapter AD-HL (7-5) (if applicable).
– Empty the adapter AD-HL, remove any obstruc-
tions.
– Remove any chips jammed into the chip collection
opening, if necessary clean the machine with a
resin solvent.
– In case of extreme contamination, remove the
planer head (chapter Planer heads and spiral
cutters) to clean the opening leading to the chip
ejection.
– Attach the dust extractor and vacuum the chip
ejection openings.
