The Victor SMART-KILL may not have worked after setup for several reasons:
1. Wi-Fi Connection Issues – The trap may not have successfully connected to Wi-Fi. If the signal is weak or missing, the trap will still operate but may not communicate properly. 2. Incorrect Code Entry – If the 15-digit alphanumeric code was entered incorrectly, the connection might fail. 3. Browser Cache Issue – If integrating with Home Assistant, the integration might not appear due to a browser cache issue. Clearing the cache or performing a hard refresh may help. 4. Trap Provisioning – The trap must be provisioned using the VictorPest app. If not, it may not function correctly. 5. Battery Issues – If the batteries are not inserted properly or are low, the trap may not power on correctly. 6. Setup Errors – If the baiting and placement steps were not followed correctly, the trap may not function as expected.
If issues persist, checking logs in Home Assistant, reviewing the troubleshooting section of the manual, or resetting the device may help.
