KNIFE SHARPENER
Remember! A very delicate press of the sharpener will ensure the sharpest cutting edge.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

Place the knife with the cutting edge facing upwards. Make sure the tip of the blade sticks
out beyond the countertop by ca. 1.5 cm.

Hold the knife by its handle with one hand and hold the sharpener with the other, putting
your fingers between the sharpener's handle and the finger guard.

Put the cutting edge of the knife's heel in the V-shaped groove of the sharpener.

Place the sharpener at a 90° angle with regard to the blade and, pressing it LIGHTLY with
your thumb, slide it along the blade beyond the tip. Be careful not to press it too hard as
this may cause loss of control over the knife and result in serious injuries.

Usually, two or three slides of the sharpener shall be sufficient to restore sharpness of the
blade.

When finished, carefully clean the knife.
NOTE: When sharpening the knife hold it still! Light pressing of the sharpener is
sufficient to sharpen the knife properly.
The working elements of the sharpener are made of tungsten carbide, one of the hardest
materials. However, after a few years of usage they may become worn-out. Thanks to the
unique structure, the working elements of the sharpener may be flipped over which will
guarantee a few more years of usage.
In order to flip over the working elements, place the sharpener on its side with the bolts facing
upwards. Unscrew the bolts carefully and separate the two halves of the handle. The working
elements shall remain in the bottom half. Switch their positions, putting the front working element
in the back and the back working element in the front. Make sure that the reference points [■]
marked on the elements are always facing the back of the sharpener. If the finger guard is
removed when flipping the working elements, place its ends in the applicable openings in the
enclosure before reassembling the handle.
Assemble the enclosure carefully screwing the bolts in. The factory screw tightening torque
value is 0.56 Nm. Screw the bolts in until you feel increased resistance.
NOTE: Do not use the appliance without the finger guard. Do not use the sharpener if you
notice any cracks on the enclosure. In the latter case, dispose of the appliance or return it
according to the warranty conditions.
NOTE: The sharpener cannot be used for sharpening scissors.
