Function restrictions
You will not be able to use the telephone, will
no longer be able to use the telephone, or you
may have to wait before using it, in the
following situations:
if the mobile phone is not switched on
R
®
if the "Bluetooth
" function is switched off
R
in Audio  2 0 or on the mobile telephone.
if the mobile phone has not logged on to a
R
mobile phone network.
The telephone automatically tries to log on
to a network. If no network is available, you
will not be able to make a 911 emergency
call. If you attempt to make an outgoing
No Service
call, the
message will appear
for a short while.
Before deactivating Audio 20, switch over
R
to "Private Mode" on the mobile phone (see
the mobile phone operating instructions).
911 emergency call
The following conditions must be fulfilled in
order to make a 911 emergency call:
the mobile phone must be switched on.
R
a network must be available.
R
If you cannot make an emergency call, you
must arrange rescue measures yourself.
The 911 emergency call is a public service.
Any misuse is punishable by law.

interface
Mobile phone requirements

To use Bluetooth
interface telephony in
conjunction with Audio 20, you need a

Bluetooth
-capable mobile phone.

Not all mobile phones available on the
market are equally suitable. You can obtain
more detailed information on suitable
mobile phones and on connecting

Bluetooth
-capable mobile phones to
Telephony via the Bluetooth
Audio 20 from your authorized Mercedes-
Benz Center or on the Internet at
http://www.mbusa-mobile.com
(customers in the USA only).
In preparation for telephoning via the
®
Bluetooth
following items on your mobile phone (see the
mobile phone operating instructions):

Hands-Free Profile
The mobile phone must support Hands-
Free Profile 1.0 or above.
X
Bluetooth
On some mobile phones, in addition to
Bluetooth
must also be made "visible" to other
devices.
X
Bluetooth
Every Bluetooth
Bluetooth
is freely definable, but can be identical for
all devices from the same manufacturer. It
is recommended that the device is given its
own name so that your mobile phone can
be clearly identified (see separate mobile
phone operating instructions).
Connecting a mobile phone
General information

Switch on the mobile phone and enter the
PIN, if necessary (see the mobile phone
operating instructions).

Activate Bluetooth
mobile phone (see mobile phone operating
instructions).

Press the ÷ button on Audio 20.

If the "Bluetooth
