INJECTOR INSTALLATION

(1) Remove the locking cover panel from the injector system using the key provided.
(2) Mount the injector in a convenient location on a wall near the supply containers. This location is usually near the
laundry machine; however, it can be mounted as a remote pumping system. It is recommended that the injector
be mounted within 50 feet of the laundry machine.
(3) Ensure that the voltage of the system matches the main power voltage.
(4) It is very important to measure the signal voltage between the signal wire and the signal common (NOT case
ground). This measurement must be taken when the laundry machine is operating and when products are being
called for.
BEFORE CONTINUING TO THE NEXT STEP, DISCONNECT ALL ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS TO THE
LAUNDRY MACHINE, CARD READER, AND INJECTOR. VERIFY THIS WITH A VOLTMETER.
(5) Run all electrical wires through suitable conduit. Check local electrical wiring codes.
(6) Inspect the wiring diagram for the laundry machine and card reader. They are available from the manufacturer
upon request.
(7) Insert one end of the suction tube into the left side of the squeeze tube in the peristaltic pump(s).
(8) Cut the suction tube to length and insert the other end into the appropriate supply container using PVC pipe as a
support.
(9) Insert one end of the discharge tubing into the right side of the squeeze tube in the peristaltic pump(s).
(10) Form an anti-siphon loop (with the loop pointing "down") with the other end of the discharge tubing and insert
the end into the supply pocket of the machine.
(11) Connect the 120 VAC or 240 VAC supply voltage to the system.
(12) See PRIMING PUMPS for priming details.
(13) Program the system via the PROGRAMMING instructions in manual.
(14) Make any adjustments to programming which can be due to product viscosity, distance pumped, etc.
(15) Energize laundry machine and card reader. The system should now be operational.

MAINTENANCE

The squeeze tubes inside the pump head(s) are the only parts that should require any attention. These tubes should
be lubricated with Knight KTL-20 Tube Gel on a monthly basis. In addition, the squeeze tubes should be replaced
every 6 to 8 months to prevent down time due to a cracked/aged tube.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

For general information, Knight Equipment can provide a Laundry Interface Manual which contains specific wiring
information on a variety of commercial dishwashers. In addition, plug-in adapters which correspond to the signal
plugs used on some machines can be provided for a clean, quick installation.
Technical questions regarding a particular installation can be referred to the nearest Knight representative for
assistance.
