1) With an "X-ACTO" knife and a metal ruler, cut out the template.
IMPORTANT : do not use scissors.
2) Position the template on the lap at the base left corner of the fireplace then make a drilling
mark. Repeat this operation for the right side. Make sure the distance between the marks is
25 ¾".
3) After making sure the distance is 25 ¾", drill two holes with a 5/16" diameter bit.
4) Place the Decorative Hearth Extension, steel facing up, insert both screws into the previ-
ously made holes and tighten them using the supply nuts and washers.
