DOLBY DIGITAL and DTS
Play a DVD encoded with Dolby Digital or DTS.
"ÎDIGITAL" or "DTS" appears on the tuner/amplifier.
To down-mix Dolby Digital or DTS (5.1ch) signals to
2 channels
Press [SHIFT]i[MIX 2CH].
To cancel
Press [SHIFT]i[MIX 2CH] again.
When "D.MIX" is flashing [DVD-A]
The DVD-Audio contains multiple-channel signals that cannot be down-
mixed.
DOLBY PRO LOGIC

Press [Î PRO LOGIC, OFF/ON].
The indicator turns green.

Playback a Dolby Surround source.
To cancel
Press [Î PRO LOGIC, OFF/ON] so the indicator turns off.
Note
≥This does not work when playing multi-channel Dolby Digital.
≥Turn Dolby Pro Logic off when playing a DVD recorded with
5.1-channel Dolby Digital or DTS. The surround effects will not be repro-
duced correctly if this is left on.

Press [SUPER SURROUND] and select "MOVIE" or
"MUSIC".
The indicator turns green.
The display on the tuner/amplifier changes each time you press the button:

To cancel
Press [SUPER SURROUND] to select "STEREO SOUND". The indicator
goes out.
Note
Turn SUPER SURROUND off when playing a DVD recorded with
5.1-channel Dolby Digital or DTS. The surround effects will not be repro-
duced correctly if this is left on.
Speaker level adjustments
Remote control only
DOLBY DIGITAL and DTS, DOLBY PRO LOGIC
If the level of the speakers appears to be different while listening to a
source, adjust the levels of the speakers to the same apparent level.
Preparation: Set the volume level of the front speakers normally used for
enjoying the source.
1 While stopped
Press [SHIFT]i[TEST] to output a test signal.
A test signal is output from each speaker in order.
To stop the test signal, press [SHIFT]i[TEST] again.
Lch:
Front left speaker
Cch:
Center speaker
Rch:
Front right speaker
RSch:
Right surround speaker
LSch:
Left surround speaker
(No signal is output for the subwoofer.)
≥The surround channel for Dolby Pro Logic is monaural so the indicator
appears as "Sch" instead.
2 While the speaker to be adjusted is outputting a signal
Press [3] (to increase the level) or [4] (to decrease the level).
The level of the speaker changes.
Repeat step 2 as desired.
To adjust the levels during play
1 Press [CH SELECT] to select the speaker.
Each time you press the button:
In Dolby Digital and DTS

2 Press [3] or [4] to adjust the level.

2. Press [3] (to increase level) or [4] (to decrease level).
