The term "Oscillating Tangential Knife" refers to the wired power / signal supply and the Oscillating Tangential
Knife hereafter also referred to as "Tangential Knife" or "OTK-3".

Personal Safety

Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating the power tool.
Do not use the power tool while you are tired and/or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or
medication. A moment of inattention while operating the power tool may result in serious personal
injury.
NOTICE
All persons who operate the power tool must have read and fully understood all relevant
safety and operating instructions. Misunderstanding may result in personal injury.
Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection and gloves. Protective
equipment reduces the risk of personal injuries.
NOTICE
Prevent unintentional starting of the OTK-3. Ensure the appliance switch is in the off-position
(0) before picking up or carrying the downholder adapter. Carrying power tools with your finger
on the switch or energizing power tools with the switch on invites accidents.
NOTICE
Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in
unexpected situations.

Power Tool Use and Care

Disconnect the Oscillating Tangential Knife from the power source and/or the battery pack
from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power
tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
NOTICE
Use clamps or another practical and secure way to secure the workpiece on the machine
table, e. g. with the help of a vacuum table, double-sided tape or clamps. Holding the
workpiece with your hands leaves it unstable and may lead to loss of control.
NOTICE
Do not reach in the area of the oscillating blade. The proximity of the blade to your hand may not
always be obvious.
Do not alter or misuse tool. Any alteration or modification is a misuse and may result in serious
personal injury.

  • Page 2 The downholder adapter is being attached to the Osciallating Tangential Knife OTK-3 below the 43 mm Euro neck. It is retained by the O-ring in the OTK-3. As the knife has to mounted prior to the assembly of the adapter, you have to proceed with utmost caution to avoid injuries.
