Care and cleaning

Always switch off at the power outlet, and then
unplug the appliance from the power outlet
before cleaning.
Scale filter
The kettle features a mesh filter attached to the lid
that removes scale deposits for cleaner water. To
clean the scale deposits on the filter, fully open the
lid, hold the handle and run it under hot water and
rub with a cleaning cloth or brush.
The concealed element is made from high quality
stainless steel. Any brown stains appearing are
the result of mineral deposits and are not rust.
Note
The filter could become damaged with time, please
check regularly and replace if found damaged.
Note
NEVER IMMERSE THE KETTLE BASE, SWITCH AREA, POWER BASE OR POWER SUPPLY
CORD IN WATER, OR ALLOW MOISTURE TO COME IN CONTACT WITH THESE PARTS.
Removal of mineral deposits
Mineral deposits in tap water may cause the kettle
interior and water gauge to discolour over time. This
may be removed by using a proprietary kettle descaler
which is available from most leading supermarkets,
department stores and hardware stores.
Alternatively:
1. Fill the kettle until
2
full with 1 part vinegar and
3
2 parts water. Boil and allow to stand overnight.
2. Empty the solution from the kettle. Fill the kettle
with clean water, bring to boil and discard the
water. Repeat and the kettle will be ready for use.
To clean the exterior
The outside of the kettle may be wiped over with
a damp cloth and polished with a soft dry cloth.
Do not use chemical, steel wool, or abrasive
cleaners to clean the outside of the kettle.
Note
Do not place a load on the top of the glass or
knock the glass on a hard surface or drop the
kettle. The glass may break. Always take care
