Connecting the Lights
1. Remove the plug from the hole in the top of the
console (Figure 3).

2. Insert the ON/OFF toggle switch into the console
hole (Figure 4).

3. Connect the wire harness as follows:
A. Plug the large wire harness connector into the
left handle light.
B. Route the harness along the bottom of the
console panel.
C. Plug the wire connector into the terminal on the
toggle switch.
D. Connect the double wire lead to the center
terminal on the toggle switch.
E. Plug the next wire harness connector into the
right handle light.
F. Route the harness down the right handle to the
rear of the engine.
G. Plug the two harness connectors into the yellow
leads coming from engine.
H. Plug the voltage regulator connector into the
wire harness connector.
4. Mount the voltage regulator, voltage regulator strap,
washers and R-clamp to the capscrew with a jam nut
and locknut (Figure 5).

5. Mount the voltage regulator strap, voltage regulator
ground wire ring terminal and the harness ground
wire ring terminal to the engine boss with a external
tooth lockwasher and capscrew (Figure 5). Use the
right hand boss.
6. Feed the engine wires and the voltage regulator wires
through the R-clamp (Figure 5).
7. Secure the wire harness to the handle using the nylon
cable ties. Check all the wires for excess bending,
chaffing or interference with mounting parts.

8. Adjust the lights as follows:
A. Remove the transport tires and rest the mower
on the drum.
B. Make sure the grass basket is installed on the
mower.
Note: Do not position the mower on the
kickstand.
C. Loosen the fasteners securing the light assemblies
to the mounting brackets
D. Start the engine.
E. Turn on the lights.
F. Adjust the lights to the desired position.
G. Tighten the mounting fasteners.
