The iCFilm comes with 3 interchangeable apertures with the diameters of Ø 1mm, Ø 2mm and Ø 3mm. The apertures can be storaged in the compartment on the bottom of the unit. Before you put the iCFilm in operation, you should select the desired aperture. Position the aperture in the let in snug fit intended for it on the baseplate.

Attention: Check the expiration date on the calibration wedge. Correct measuring results can only be obtained with a valid calibration wedge. Protect the GretagMacbeth calibration wedge from heat and direct sunlight, chemicals, mechanical influences, etc. A defective calibration wedge may lead to a faulty calibration and therefore incorrect measuring results.

Place the density patch of the calibration wedge onto the measurement aperture. • Press down the iCFilm until the density value is displayed (e.g. 1.80). • Use buttons A or B to adjust the iCFilm to the requested value (e.g. 1.75): Press button A to decrease the displayed value Press button B to increase the displayed value •...
  • Page 16: Adapt Icfilm To Other Measurement Devices

10 Adapt iCFilm to other measurement devices With a simple operation the slope factor of the iCFilm can be adjusted to match other densitometers. The calibration can be performed with reference either to a required density value or to a given slope factor (if known). The proceeding is the same as mentioned in section 9 for the calibration.
  • Page 17: Calibration Procedure

The two densitometers are now compatible, and the new slope factor can be read on the display by briefly pressing buttons A and B simultaneously. The iCFilm is supplied with the slope set to a value of 1.000 and this value can be changed within a range of 750 to 1.250 to any required slope value.

An operation or calibration error on screening positions, causes the "EE.E" message to appear. The measurement procedure must be repeated from the beginning. Other errors: • No value will be displayed: The iCFilm was pushed down for a measurement for less than 0.5 seconds. GretagMacbeth ® iCFilm User Guide...
