BRAKES
Service and emergency brakes
The braking system is composed of carboceramic (CCM) disc brakes on all four wheels.
This application has contributed to improving all the performance parameters during braking (improved
deceleration/pedal load ratio, braking distances, resistance to fading) and considerably reducing the

unsprung weights.
The hydraulic circuits have crossed branching
and are independent for the front and rear
brakes. Therefore, should one of the circuits fail,
emergency braking is always possible with the
efficient circuit.
The vacuum brake servo and the hydraulic
control unit, equipped with solenoid valves and
scavenge pump, are activated in the event that
the wheels lock adjusting the pressure on the
calipers (ABS system).
In addition, the hydraulic control unit is equipped
with a microprocessor capable of processing a
braking correction (EBD system).
Finally, the braking system is equipped with an
electric parking brake (EPB) that acts on the rear
wheels. It is automatically engaged when the
engine is turned off and it is disengaged when,
with the engine running, the accelerator pedal is
depressed.
It can also be manually engaged by raising the
lever positioned on the central fixing plate of the
centre console, see page 149.
