This ASSE 1070 approved device is intended for point-of-use applications only.
The Webstone Ultra-Compact Thermostatic Mixing Valve (TMV) mixes cold & hot water supplies to an output temperature
range of 95°–120°F, providing final control of water temperature at the plumbing fixture. The valve may be positioned
in any orientation and secured in place by using the accompanying mounting bracket. Valve inlets are each outfitted
with a check valve and strainer. Inspect the complete TMV unit at least once per year to verify it is operating correctly.
It may be necessary to inspect the valve more frequently for installations with poor or unknown water quality.
IMPORTANT: Follow all federal/national, state, and local codes when installing, testing, or performing work on
systems. All parts are covered by a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects, provided they are installed
by a licensed plumber and operated under normal working conditions. Disassembling will void this warranty. For
any questions or comments, please contact us at (800) 225-9529 or visit us at www.webstonevalves.com.
WARNING: The Ultra-Compact TMV was not designed for installations exposed to subfreezing conditions;
use suitable insulation if this possibility exists in your installation. Subjecting the device to heat during
installation may damage the valve internals. This device is designed for use in water systems only, DO NOT
use in steam systems. The use of excessive thread sealant may cause the mixing valve to fail.

INSTALLATION

1. Prepare the system for the TMV installation:
a. Flush the system thoroughly before fitting the Ultra-Compact TMV.
It is critical to flush all debris from the pipework before installing the device.
This step eliminates the most common cause of system difficulties.
b. Check the specifications of your Ultra-Compact TMV against site
parameters, such as temperature and pressure. Rectify any conditions
outside the valve's specifications before installation.
2. Thread any fittings required for the installation onto the Ultra-Compact TMV body.
Refer to "Installation with Fittings" box to the right for recommended locations.
3. For compression connections, install the provided ferrule and nut on each tube.
For ProPush™ connections, refer to "Making ProPush Connections" while performing steps 4-6.
4. Connect the hot water supply line to the inlet marked with an H.
5. Connect the cold water supply line to the inlet marked with a C.
6. Connect the mixed water line to the device outlet marked MIX, also indicated with a flow arrow.
7. For compression fittings, fully tighten the compression nuts at each connection.
8. Verify that the correct mixed water temperature is being achieved:
a. Open the outlet supplied by the TMV, allow the water temperature to stabilize and measure.
b. Follow steps below to change output temperature.

OUTPUT TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT

WARNING: The Ultra-Compact TMV must be flowing water while adjusting the output
temperature. Failure to do so may result in damage to the valve's internal components.
1. Remove the screw from cap, and detach the cap from the TMV.
2. Loosen the 13mm locking nut enough to allow the adjustment stem
to rotate. Note: locking nut and stem are left-hand threaded.
3. Place cap back on the square portion of the adjustment stem.
Do not secure cap with screw at this time.
4. Rotate the cap clockwise to increase the output temperature or counterclockwise to
decrease the output temperature. Cap is marked with +/- directional arrows for reference.
5. Allow the mixed water temperature to stabilize, then measure.
6. When desired output temperature is reached, fully tighten 13mm locking nut
and secure cap in place using screw. Cap should be unable to rotate.
