TRANSPORTING THE PRINTER
Moving the printer
from
one side of the room to another requires no extra-
ordinary measures. You need only keep the printer level and avoid jolting the
unit as you move it.
Transporting the printer longer distances does, however, require that you take
some important safety measures. Most important is that you secure the toner
cartridge in place to prevent toner spillage inside the printer. The easiest way
to do this is to tape the cartridge in place inside the hopper and run tape
along the periphery of the cartridge's top cover. Another method is to dispose
of the cartridge entirely and empty the hopper thoroughly.
G
Warning: The toner is electrically conductive. Never dispose toner
near electrical equipment.
Whenever transporting or storing your printer, always remember to pack the
unit in its original packing materials. The carton and foam packing are
specially designed
to
prevent damage to the printer during shipping.
OTHER PRECAUTIONARY & PREVENTIVE MEASURES
To ensure top performance from both your SLM605 Laser Printer and your
entire Computer system, follow these additional guidelines:
Always have you printer securely placed on a firm, level surface.
Avoid dusty or greasy work areas.
Keep all components away from extreme heat or moisture.
Keep all components out of direct sunlight.
Do not switch the printer off while it is printing. Whenever you do switch the
printer off, wait at least two seconds before you switch it on again.
