Battery Installation/Replacement
Smart Clip Battery: Separate Part A from Part B
Part A
1. With battery compartment facing upwards, with a coin remove
battery cover by turning cover counter clockwise ¼ turn until you
feel cover click.
2. Remove the plastic strip outwards from under the battery cover and
properly discard.
3. Confirm the placement of a CR2450 battery into Part B battery
compartment with positive side of battery facing upwards (side of
battery with writing).
4. Replace battery cover on battery compartment and secure battery
cover by aligning the pin hole on the battery cover with the pin hole on
Part B with ¼ turn clockwise or in the direction indicated for close.

Getting Started

5. Smart Clip will beep 4 times letting you know that the battery is
correctly installed and that the Smart Clip is ready to be activated.
Key Ring Unit
1. Key Ring Unit comes with batteries pre-installed.
a) With the reverse side of the Key Ring Unit facing upwards, remove
the plastic tab by pulling outwards from the Key Ring Unit battery
compartment.
b) Press and hold the Center Button for one second, unit beeps ten
(10) times with Green LED illuminating at the same time, then
extinguishes. Your Key Ring Unit is now ready to be activated.
2. Battery Replacement
a) With the back side of the Key Ring Unit facing upwards, pull the
battery door clockwise.
b) Place lithium CR2450 battery into holder making sure that battery
makes contact with the internal ring and the positive (+) side of
battery facing up.

Smart Clip Unit
Follow your Child Restraint System (CRS) procedures for instructions on
removal and installation of your CRS's chest harness clip.
Installation of the ChildMinder
Attach the Key Ring Unit to the child's caregiver's drivers' automotive
key ring.
Using your ChildMinder Smart Clip
Single Unit Key Ring
1. Follow your usual procedures for securing your child in their CRS
system.
2. Upon fastening the Smart (Chest Harness) Clip (insert Smart Clip Part
B to Smart Clip Part A), Smart Clip will began to beep with Green LED
flashing.
3. Press and hold the Center Button on the Key ring Unit for One second
or until Key Ring Unit beeps.
4. The Smart Clip will stop beeping and Red LED will began flashing
on the Smart Clip and on the Key Ring Units. Your system is now
activated (armed).
