5. Once the pilot is lit, continue to hold the
control knob in for 30 seconds before
continuing. Turn the control knob to
HI (maximum heat output) so that the
pilot lights the burner, and allow the
patio heater to heat up for 5 minutes.
6. Turn the control knob to a position
between LO and HI to set the patio
heater to the required heat output.
7. To turn off the patio heater, turn the
control knob to PILOT, press it in and
turn to the OFF position. The pilot and
burner will go out.
8. Close the regulator on the gas bottle.
9. If you turn the patio heater off, leave it
for at least 5 minutes before turning it
on again.
Cleaning
The outside of the patio heater can be
wiped down using a well-wrung cloth.
Do not use corrosive or abrasive cleaning
agents.

Cleaning the burner

The hole in the burner can get blocked by
insects that build nests in it, and so it should
be cleaned regularly if it is impossible to
turn it on and all other measures have
failed.
Close the regulator and detach it from the
gas bottle.
Remove the protective guard and carefully
lift the glass tube off.
Clean the burner with a soft brush or
compressed air.
Clean the main nozzle and pilot nozzle with
a pipe cleaner or a piece of thin steel wire.
Replace the glass tube and protective
guard.
Check regularly that there are no cracks
in the glass tube. Check for other signs of
damage.
Storage
The patio heater may only be stored indoors
if the gas bottle has been disconnected and
removed from the heater. Store the patio
heater in a dry location sheltered from the
wind and rain.
Leak test
Mix up 25 ml of washing-up liquid and 75
ml of water.
Check that the regulator is closed. Place the
regulator on the gas bottle and open it.
Brush the hose and all the connections with
the soapy water solution. If bubbles appear,
there is a leak which must be dealt with
before you can use the patio heater.
Deal with the problem and carry out a new
leak test.
If you cannot deal with the problem, the
patio heater must not be used!
Close the regulator after the leak test.
