    Operation Install the Batteries to Power the Talk-Through Functionality The OTTO NoizeBarrier Range SA headset uses battery power to operate the situational awareness/talk-through functions. (Figures 3-6) Identify the rubberized battery covers on the earcups. With finger pressure, pry off the battery cover on one earcup (Figure 3).
  • Page 6 Situational Awareness Talk-Through Operations The talk-through technology of the OTTO NoizeBarrier Range SA Headset allows users to hear normal sounds around them and maintain complete situational awareness (SA). At the same time, sound suppression circuitry reduces dangerously loud noises over 85dB to safe levels.
  • Page 7 Cleaning the Ear Seals Use a soft cloth to remove debris from the headset. Use a soft damp cloth to wipe down the ear seals. DO NOT immerse the OTTO NoizeBarrier Range SA headset in liquid for cleaning. Replacing the Ear Seals (Figures 8-10) The ear seals are mounted in a removable frame for easy replacement.

The helmet mount kit also includes a compartment for a spare battery on each earcup.
  • Page 9 Positioning the Headset When Helmet Mounted The rail system mount has two positions. The first position is outward. In this position the earcups sit slightly off the head for comfort. The second position is inward to provide contact with the head and a solid seal around the ears when in a noisy environment.
