    Removal and Replacement Procedures This section describes how to remove and install components from the device. Tools Required The following tools are required to perform maintenance on the device: • Phillips screwdriver • Tweezers • Plastic pry Service Considerations Do the following prior to performing any maintenance procedures: Unplug the AC adapter and remove all cables connections.

    Removing Battery Slide the release latch to unlock the battery cover. Lift the battery cover to remove it Lift the battery pack to remove it.

    Removing Lower Case Prerequisite: • Removing Battery on page Unfasten the 6 screws securing the lower and upper cases. Open the printer lid cover and remove the 2 screws. Carefully remove the lower case. CAUTION: Do not completely remove the lower case, cables are still connected underneath.
  • Page 8 Disconnect the cable from the interface board connector. This releases the lower case completely off the upper case.

    Removing Customer Display Prerequisite: • Removing Battery on page • Removing Lower Case on page 7 Unfasten the 2 screws. Remove the customer display bracket. Disconnect the customer display cable from the interface board.

    Removing Interface Board Prerequisite: • Removing Battery on page • Removing Lower Case on page 7 • Removing Customer Display on page 9 Unfasten the 4 screws securing the interface board to the lower case. Disconnect the speaker cable. Disconnect the Fingerprint scanner cable.

    Removing Fingerprint Scanner Prerequisite: • Removing Battery on page • Removing Lower Case on page 7 • Removing Customer Display on page 9 • Removing Camera, Speaker and Vibrator on page 14 Unfasten the 2 screws from the Fingerprint scanner bracket. Remove the Fingerprint scanner.

    Removing Waterproof Rubber Gasket Prerequisite: • Removing Battery on page • Removing Lower Case on page 7 Remove the waterproof rubber gasket from the lower case.

  • Page 20 Disconnect the 4G antenna. Disconnect the GPS antenna. Unfasten the 9 screws from the rear board.
  • Page 21 Carefully remove the rear board. CAUTION: Do not completely remove the rear board, cable is still connected underneath. Disconnect the LCD cable. Remove the rear board.

    Removing Printer Roller Open the printer lid cover. Pull to remove the printer roller.

    Removing Barcode Scanner Prerequisite: • Removing Battery on page • Removing Lower Case on page 7 Disconnect the barcode scanner cable. Unfasten the 2 screws from the bracket of the barcode scanner. Remove the bracket.
