Sole Control SC460, SC460R &
DSC460 Remote Control Manual
Important note for new owners: Thank
you for purchasing this remote. Right
now, your remote will not work any
device. You will need to program the
remote once you install the batteries.
To program the remote, you will need to
find the four-digit code number for your
device in the Code Listing. There
probably is more than one code listed
since manufacturers make more than
one remote. However, one of them
should work your component.
It is important to know that the first code
listed isn't necessarily the one that
works your component. You may need
to try more than one manufacturer code.
Keep entering the codes in the remote following the
Instructions in this manual.
The remote should work exactly as your original remote
did. Enjoy!

POWER UP!
1. On the back of the remote, slide the battery cover off
in the direction of the arrow.
2. Install 4 'AAA' alkaline batteries, making sure the +
and - marks match the diagram inside.
3. Replace the battery cover.
4. Test batteries by pressing the "xtra" key (in lower
right corner) and make sure that the green light
comes on above the "Power" key. (Improperly
installed batteries may cause acid leakage and/or
damage to your unit.)
NOTE:
When you replace dead batteries or take them out, you will
need to program your Sole Control.
TV/VCR/CABLE/CD SET-UP:
1. Turn on the component that you want to set up. (TV,
VCR, CBL, etc.) In the code listing find the 4-digit
code numbers for your component brand.
2. Press the "xtra" key. The green light will come on.
3. Press the key of the component that you want to set
up. (TV, VCR, CBL, etc.) The green light will blink
once to indicate that the component has been
selected, and then stay on.
4. Within thirty seconds, enter in a 4-digit code number.
The green light will flash when code has been
successfully entered.
5. Test code by pressing "Power" key (Play key for CD).
If the component turns off, you've found the right
code. Follow the same instructions to set up your
other components. If the component doesn't turn off,
return to step 2 and use the next 4-digit code listed.
Note: If none of the codes turn your component off, try the
Brand Scan Mode, Auto Search Mode or Code Finder
Mode.
CHANGING COMPONENT MODES
After the remote has been programmed for multiple
components, you must set the remote into the mode of the
component you wish to control by pressing the
corresponding component key. For example, if you turned
on your TV and now would like to turn on your VCR, you
must press the "VCR" key to put the remote into the VCR
mode before you press "Power."
1. Press the key of the component that you want to
control. (TV, VCR, CBL, etc.) If you were successful
in changing modes, the green light will blink and the
component key will light up.
2. Now you are in control of that particular component.
CODE FINDER FOR TV/VCR ETC.
Code finder is another way of finding the code for your
component and having it programmed in the remote. This
is done by sending a different code, from the code book
list, every time you press a key.
1. Turn on the component that you want to setup. (TV,
VCR, etc.).
2. Press the "xtra" key. The green light will come on.
3. Press the key of the component that you want to set
up. (TV, VCR, etc) The green light blinks and stays
on.
4. Press "0" - "0" - "0" - "0". The green light will stay on
for 8 seconds. You must start the next step before the
light turns off.
5. Press the "Power" key off and on until your
component turns off, waiting 2 seconds between each
time you press power. You may have to press the
power key more than 200 times before your
component turns off.
6. As soon as the remote turns your component off,
press the "xtra" key. The component is now
programmed. To find that code, proceed (Stored
Code Identification Mode).
AUTOMATIC BRAND SCAN FOR TV/VCR/CABLE/CD
Automatic Brand Scan is another way of finding a specific
code by manufacturer/brand only. (i. e., to access only
Sony Codes use this mode)
1. First, find the brand code that matches your brand.
Write it down.
2. Turn on the component that you want to setup. (TV,
VCR, SAT, etc...).
3. Place the Remote on a sturdy mount, i. e., table, aim
it at a component, Press the "xtra" key.
4. Press the component key that you want to set up (TV,
VCR, SAT, etc...), and enter your brand code. The
green light will come on and stay on.
5. The Remote will send out the command to turn off
your component with long pauses (about 5 sec.) in
between each code. Press the enter key as soon as
the component turns off. The component is
automatically programmed.
