Sole Control SC500 Remote Control
Manual

SET UP INSTRUCTIONS

Insert four "AAA" batteries into the battery
compartment on the rear of the unit.
Review the list of brand codes for the code
that corresponds to your component.
Example: A Zenith TV code is 400. If the
are multiple codes listed for your
component, start with the highest number
first working down to the lowest number.
1. Press the set key. The "Set Mode"
indicator will light for 8 seconds.
2. Select the component you desire to
operate (TV-1, TV-2, VCR-1,VCR-2,
Cable, or AUX), by depressing the component key.
Note: The AUX Key may be assigned to an additional
TV or VCR by depressing AUX and dialing in a TV
code or VCR code.
3. Enter the corresponding 3 digit code for the
component you wish to operate. Once entered, the
"Code Entered" light will flash indicating that the code
was entered properly. Once the set key has been
depressed, you have 8 seconds to complete steps 1-
2-3. The remote is now ready to operate.
If the red "invalid code" indicator light flashes, you have
incorrectly entered The corresponding code. Please review
steps 1, 2, 3 and try again.
After further attempts you do not receive the green "Code
Entered" indicator, call the Sole Control number for
assistance.
Once the Sole Control has been set up, it is not necessary
to set up again until the batteries are changed.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Press the component selection key for the desired
device you wish to operate (TV-1, VCR-1, etc.)
2. Direct the Sole Control remote towards the
component you desire to operate and press the
power key. The component should be on.
3. For further operation, direct the Sole Control towards
the desired component and depress the desired
functions.
4. To operate additional components, repeat steps 1, 2,
3.
Please Note: All functions should work the same as your
original remote. However your original remote may list the
power key as off/on, and some functions may operate
under different labels. There may be some operations from
your original remote not available on the Sole Control.
Keys A through H functions offer differ from various
models of the same manufacturer.
If the battery indicator light remains in constant on position,
change the batteries. When the "Battery" indicator light
quick flashes, it is monitoring battery life status.

Recoton Corporation (the Company) warrants to the
original retail purchase, of this product that should the
product or any part thereof be proven detective in material
or workmanship within One Year from the date of original
purchase, such defects will be replaced without charge for
parts or labor. This warranty does not apply to any
incidental or consequential damages.
To obtain replacement within the terms of this warranty,
the product should be delivered, transportation prepaid, to
the Dealer where purchased or to the Company, along
with proof of date of purchase. Call 1-800-RECOTON to
obtain information regarding the procedure for proper
return of your product if your Dealer does not honor the
warranty.
THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT APPLY TO ANY
PRODUCT OR PART THEREOF WHICH HAS BEEN
DAMAGED THROUGH ALTERATION, MISHANDLING,
MISUSE, NEGLECT OR ACCIDENT. THIS WARRANTY
IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED
OR IMPLIED, AND NO PERSONS OR
REPRESENTATIVE IS AUTHORIZED TO ASSUME FOR
THE COMPANY ANY OTHER LIABILITY IN
CONNECTION WITH THE SALE OF THIS PRODUCT

HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS OR THE

sent to the Company for repair/replacement, transportation
prepaid, by calling 1-800-RECOTON for details, complete
instructions, and service fee charges.

CODE SETUP

Please note that different versions of the SC500 require 3
or 4-digit codes. After the following 3-digit code table you
will find 4-digit codes.
