    Installation and User Guide For your safety - installation advice IMPORTANT: The CEL450 operates over the GSM cellular network and requires a satisfactory GSM connection in order to operate. The CEL450 is a safety product that needs to work in an emergency. Once satisfactorily positioned in your home, activated and tested, the unit and its GSM cellular antenna must not be relocated without repeating the installation test process to check continued satisfactory operation.

    Installation and User Guide Quick Start Guide Do’s: • Do: Place the Home Console Unit on a fl at, sturdy, non-metallic surface near a modular phone jack and electrical power outlet that is powered at all times. • Do: Place the Home Console Unit in a central location in the home to optimize voice and Help Activator range.
  • Page 8 Installation and User Guide Step 1 - Connecting the cords and adaptors and positioning the home console The home console should be positioned so that it can be clearly heard and sound is not restricted from entering the microphone. Step 1A – Plug the power adaptor into the home console socket labeled AC and then connect to a non-switch controlled (always on) electrical outlet.

Help Activator Range Test mode will automatically exit 2 minutes after the last press of the help activator. You can also exit programming mode at any time by pressing the green RESET button on the home console unit.

The base unit will announce ‘Do not worry your alarm telephone is dialing for assistance’. You will then hear beeps and tones while the base unit connects to the Monitoring center.

    Installation and User Guide Status warnings Cellular connection monitoring If the cellular network becomes disconnected or the signal strength poor, the home console will announce ‘WARNING – the telephone line is disconnected’ after 1 minute. This warning will be repeated every 30 seconds until the connection becomes available again. The status LEDs will also provide further information on the specifi c problem (see page 13).
