Introduction What is the sanakey? The sanakey is a transcutaneous electro stimulator. It is intended for delivering non-invasive therapy to the body’s physiological systems via skin areas in order to provide pain relief and functional restoration, as well as ‘Key-Phoresis’, a modified form of iontophoresis.

2 hours between treatment sessions, to avoid isolated cases of skin irritation. In most cases, application of the Sanakey is carried out by moving the device on the skin. In some cases increased pain, muscle aches and other reactions may be associated with application of the sanakey.

Using Your sanakey Three Step Protocol Every sanakey treatment follows a 3 step protocol. scan for keypoints SCAN keypoints are our ‘doorway’ to the body’s regulative/repair system, areas on the skin where; 1. the sanakey electrode drags (‘sticks to the skin’) 2.
  • Page 18 If you have an area or point of pain, that is, you can ‘point to it’ or clearly indicate its location – begin working with the sanakey in that area. The position of this pain does not depend on a diagnosis – it is simply where the you feel the pain ‘here and now’.

  • Page 27 SCAN Slowly scan the temple area of the head. It’s usually best to begin on the side with lesser pain. If the pain is equal both sides, begin on the left side. It is important to scan an area large enough to identify keypoints. If you can’t identify keypoints, simply place the device directly on the temple.
  • Page 28: Spinal Pain Therapy

Spinal Pain Therapy Up to 80% of us will experience back pain at some point in our lives and 10% will experience significant disability as a result. Back pain disrupts our quality of life and accounts for an enormous cost to the community. As well as treating directly on the pain area the tThree Pathways treatment can be applied for pain related to the spine, nervous system, and general pain of the body.

  • Page 35: Key-Phoresis Mode

Key-Phoresis Mode The Key-Phoresis mode is a modified iontophoretic mechanism to facilitate the absorption of external substances such as creams, lotions and gels. Iontophoresis is the introduction of various ions (charged particles) into the skin by the means of electricity. It is a means of delivery that ensures a local dose of the substance in the treatment area while minimising the exposure to the rest of the body.
