    1.7.2 Wireless Device (WD) A Westlock Wireless Device (WD) is bracket-mounted to any type of valve or actuator and – using the standard wireless IEEE802.15.4/ZigBee Pro, 2.4 GHz protocol – wirelessly transmits and receives messages relevant to the position status of the valve in real time. The WD is powered by 4 half AA Lithium batteries.

    Figure 2: Wireless Device Internal Antenna Mounted on Actuator The Westlock Wireless Device (WD) is the sensing component of the Westlock Wireless Valve Monitoring System. It is installed on top of a valve or actuator and consists of a stem attached mechanically to the valve or actuator axle.

    Depends on enclosure 2.1.4 WD Installation The Westlock Wireless Device can be mounted on operating installed valves using an appropriate bracket. Each valve type requires a unique mechanical design for the specific bracket and Westlock has a large installed base and extensive experience manufacturing and customizing such brackets.
