Flexboat uses first-class raw materials in its products but even the best quality stainless steel is subject to corrosion. Simple contact with a tool made of regular steel or with a stainless steel part or bolt from another manufacturer may contaminate and generate undesirable rust spots.
Owner’s Manual – SR 550 process under control. After each use of the boat in saltwater, always clean the stainless steel parts with soap and water. (Note: Detergent or ammonia cleaner may also be used). To remove rust spots from stainless steel parts, the simplest and easiest way is using Semorim, an oxalic acid based product found in any supermarket.
Flexboat boats have a system for quick drainage of the freshwater tank that facilitates this task in the SR 500 GII, SR 550, SR 620, SR 760 GII and SR 1000 boats. There is a plug, usually located in the stern deck (on SD boats it is located in the engine room), which once opened will drain all the water from the tank.
• Lightly sand again with fine sandpaper. Apply more layers of the epoxy paint mixture until scratch is gone. • If necessary, epoxi paint the floor of your Flexboat every year. 13.8 – Cleaning products NOT TO BE USED on board Rugged sponges or steel sponges should be avoided altogether, either to clean fiberglass surfaces or to clean metal or stainless steel parts.

15 – Onboard safety Rule number 1: never, ever!, drive or let someone drive your FLEXBOAT without being prepared for that. Onboard safety rules must be non-negotiable. So exercise your power as a "vessel commander" and be clear and direct in the orders, especially with children, who are not much aware of the risks of navigation.
Owner’s Manual – SR 550 16 - Anchoring your Flexboat 16.1 – Launching the anchor Be very careful with some issues, such as: • Knowing the bottom where the anchor is to be launched is fundamental. The best places are those of sand, better than those of rocks, seaweed or mud.
Owner’s Manual – SR 550 • Have everyone on board sit down before accelerating. When you are leaving or entering the open sea by an unfamiliar route, try to do this about one hour before high tide. So, if you get aground, just wait for the water to rise and leave.
Owner’s Manual – SR 550 • How to conserve the engine: a. Never leave old gasoline in the engine for more than 30 days: b. Run the engine at least every 15 days. c. Make preventive inspection every 6 months.
