6. Operation

This section of the user manual describe how to operate the NDB-DOC-3.

6.1 Cable check test

Perform a cable check test prior to test any power transformer to ensure test
equipment's integrity.
1. Turn on the instrument by pressing the power button
2. Connect the test lead to the instrument.
3. Short all clamps together. Make sure all clamps make good electrical contact.
4. Press the winding type selection button
5. Press the start test button
6. The test will last for approximately 8 seconds.
7. Once completed, the result will be displayed:
• The green OK indicator will turn on, and Pass will be displayed on the
screen if cables are in good condition.
• The OPEN yellow indicator will turn on, and Fail will be displayed on
the screen if the instrument detected an unexpected resistance value
in the test lead. Make sure all clamps make good electrical contact. If
the problem persists, the test lead must be repaired or replaced.
