Please read these User Instructions before initial installation and operation of your tele- phone. In cases of power failure of your varix business the EuroMaster Systel will also not be oper- ational. The memory for the redialling and the call box will be deleted. The time will be synchronized with that of the exchange after the first outgoing call.
Keys and Displays Your EuroMaster Systel has a two-line display, a numeric keypad, function keys as well Keys and Displays as five keys for menu control. You use the "menu" keys, which are explained in the "Menu Control" section on page 5, to operate the functions and features of the EuroMaster Systel telephone and your ISDN connection.
The func- tions that the keys currently have are specified in the display of your EuroMaster Systel: the name of the function appears in white in the lower line of the display (e.g.
Making a Call You can make calls with your EuroMaster Systel in the usual way. Lift the handset off Making a Call the hook and simply dial a telephone number. Note, that you can set the varix busi- ness whether the exchange line is seized automatically or by dialling 0.

When you receive a call, you can see the telephone number of the caller in the dis- play . If this telephone number is in the telephone book of your EuroMaster Systel, the second line of the display also contains the name of the caller as saved in your tele- phone book.
Making a Call When you receive a call, you can deflect it to a telephone number from the telephone book or to a telephone number you have saved for call deflection. For more informa- tion on how to program this number, see the "Telephone Number for Call Deflection" section on page 49.

Making a Call Some network providers offer you the option of registering malicious calls. The network provider then records and stores the date, time, your telephone number as well as the telephone number of the malicious caller you want to identify. This service is not available with all network providers.

Making a Call If you use the keypad during a call, your EuroMaster Systel produces the correspond- ing standard DTMF tones. These tones are used to control answering machines or for the input of messages to pager services. You can however switch to the keypad protocol, for example, to control new ISDN ser- vices in the exchange.

Usually, there are three different types of call diversion available: unconditional, when busy and on no reply (see below). Please note that call diversion is an automatic function of your EuroMaster Systel in conjunction with the ISDN. You can setup call diversions for each of the three MSNs allocated to your EuroMaster Systel; each MSN can be assigned a different type of call diversion (unconditional, no reply, when busy) and a different destination number.
Telephone Programming Your EuroMaster Systel is pre-programmed at the factory to enable you to make calls Telephone Programming immediately. However, in order to make use of the full spectrum of features of the ISDN and your EuroMaster Systel, you may have to make several settings which are then stored in your telephone memory.
No.´s, also known as MSN or as direct dialling No.´s. The telephone can then be called direct externally. The internal telephone No.´s that you have determined for the EuroMaster Systel, must be programmed via your system telephone. For the following settings the internal telephone No. has to be inserted for the respec- tive MSN.

Do not confuse call deflection with the automatic call diversion also available with your EuroMaster Systel (refer to the "Call Diversion" section on page 41). Call deflection allows you to manually deflect each incoming call as required.
Telephone Programming – Terminal Functions If you have allocated at least one MSN to your EuroMaster Systel (refer to "MSN Pro- Telephone Programming – Terminal Functions gramming" section on page 46), you can specify whether this MSN should be sig- nalled as well as the ringing tone used.
EuroMaster Systel will add 0 to national telephone numbers and 00 to internatio- nal telephone numbers. For other European countries, it may be necessary to change this setting.
Telephone Programming – Terminal Functions Your EuroMaster Systel saves all charge data received from the ISDN. The charges are saved in four memories. One for each MSN (if programmed) and an “unassigned” memory which is used if you have not programmed an MSN. You can delete the contents of each memory separately.
Telephone Programming – Terminal Functions Your EuroMaster Systel saves accumulated connection charges for all calls made from the terminal. It receives the necessary data from the network in call charge units. You enter the price per call charge unit using the following procedure.
The PIN always consists of four digits. You do not have to press the "OK" softkey after entering your PIN: as soon as you enter the fourth digit, your EuroMaster Systel automat- ically evaluates the PIN. If the input and confirmation of the new PIN do not agree, you will receive an error message.
